WoW: Forever after level 30: Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and the Barrow Deeps raid
WoW: Forever after level 30: Blizzard's video shows the Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and the new 10-player Barrow Deeps raid on the road from 30 to 60.
Blizzard released a new WoW: Forever video on October 19 showing what comes after level 30, the point where the beta stops. Your road from 30 to 60 runs through two new zones, the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal, and ends near a new 10-player raid called the Barrow Deeps.
Quick summary
- Riverglades: new zone past Redridge Mountains, open to both factions, like Stranglethorn Vale
- Alliance: the Brotherhood of the Horse, a faction from Warcraft II, at Farholde Keep
- Horde: the Bolder’ok ogres, who broke away from the Twilight’s Hammer
- Mount Hyjal: the last stop of the leveling journey, with the Druids of the Talon and the Cenarion Circle
- Barrow Deeps: new 10-player raid inside Hyjal, a prison that once held "Azeroth’s most infamous betrayer"
Riverglades: a new zone for both factions
Blizzard says the Riverglades picks up “where paths may have ended previously in areas like Redridge Mountains”. Like Stranglethorn Vale, it isn’t tied to one faction.
- Alliance players meet the Brotherhood of the Horse, elite Knights of Stormwind who fought at Blackrock Mountain. When Turalyon marched on the Dark Portal, they disobeyed orders to keep hunting the Horde remnants and broke with Stormwind for good. Twenty years later they hold Farholde Keep.
- Horde players meet the Bolder’ok ogre clan, former members of the Twilight’s Hammer who left after the Second War. They compete with the humans of Farholde for the open plains.
- Both sides fight the Twilight’s Hammer, who hold Twilight’s Shroud, the westernmost stronghold of the old Horde, and Krol’dok Stronghold.
The video also shows side quests like wrecking a pirate operation and rescuing a horse, an ogre named Jom-jom, and the Bloodmasters’ Ring, a fighting ring deep in ogre territory where you take on the ogres’ best brawlers.
Mount Hyjal: the end of the road to 60
Malfurion Stormrage and the druids have kept Hyjal sealed for five years. In WoW: Forever the road opens for the first time since the Third War, and you work with the Druids of the Talon and the Cenarion Circle to heal the land after the Battle of Mount Hyjal. Horde and Alliance have shared the area under an uneasy agreement, and Blizzard says those tensions are heating up again. One quest line follows a Curious Crow who has found warlocks and activity tied to the Wild King.
The Barrow Deeps raid
Deep inside Mount Hyjal sits the Barrow Deeps, a new 10-player raid. Blizzard describes it as a prison that once held “Azeroth’s most infamous betrayer”. The video does not name bosses, loot or an opening date, so treat anything beyond that as speculation for now.
