Starting AION 2 in 2026: picking a server, what’s free and your first week
What to sort out before and after your first AION 2 login: servers, what Membership unlocks, reward deadlines, and what to avoid in week one.
Last updated: October 13, 2026.
AION 2 is free to play on Windows PC, through Steam or NC’s PURPLE launcher. This guide covers what to sort out before your first login and during your first week, based only on NC’s official notices.
Before you install
- Platform: Steam and PURPLE have the same content and share the same servers. You only need to link them if you want the same character on both.
- PC: Steam lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti and 100 GB of storage as the minimum; SSD recommended.
- Not officially supported: controllers work, but NC doesn’t officially support them. Linux and Steam Deck aren’t supported either.
- No carry-over: progress from the Korean or Taiwanese versions doesn’t transfer.

Choosing a server
Each server holds one faction only, Elyos or Asmodian. Every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server for a limited time, and that pairing decides who you meet in the Abyss and other cross-faction modes. Pick a region first (Europe, North America East/West, Latin America or Asia), then a faction, then a server. Pairings change, so check NC’s server notice before you commit. Our server guide goes into more detail.
Language: the UI and subtitles support Brazilian Portuguese; voices are English, Japanese or Korean. Change it under the gear icon → Settings → Language.
What’s free and what isn’t
- The game itself, every zone and solo or group play cost nothing.
- The Market and the Kina ↔ Quna exchange require the Special Quai Membership ($14.99 for 30 days, and it only covers the server you buy it on).
- Each Daeva Pass has a free Basic track. The Premium track costs Quna and is bought per character.

Your first week
- Log in before the December 1 maintenance (11:30 PM PST) to receive the pre-registration and Steam wishlist rewards by mail. Claim them before December 8, 11:30 PM PST.
- Do your Daeva Pass missions as you play. Each pass has a weekly EXP cap, so you can’t clear it in one weekend.
- If you want the Planet’s Call pass, sales end October 28 at 12:00 AM PDT.
- Plan around the weekly maintenance: NC posts the time on the notice board.
- Don’t use macros or buy Kina from outside sellers. NC restricted about 15,000 accounts in two waves (4,996 on Oct 10 PDT and 10,000 on Oct 12 PDT) for botting and RMT.
Your first session
- If you haven’t logged in yet, do it soon: pre-registration and wishlist rewards need a login before Dec 1 maintenance.
- Pick region → faction → server carefully; switching later costs.
- Decide whether Membership is worth it for your playstyle (Market and currency exchange), and work the Daeva Pass weekly EXP cap as you level.
If something goes wrong
If your account gets locked, NC’s notice separates bans from temporary security locks, and in both cases the fix is a ticket at help.plaync.com. For bugs, NC points players to the bug-reports channel on its official Discord.
