AION 2 account locked? Ban vs. security lock, and how to appeal
NC restricted almost 15,000 AION 2 accounts in two waves. How to tell a ban from a security lock, and how to file an appeal.
If you logged into AION 2 between October 10 and 12 and found your account restricted, first figure out which of two things happened. NC posted two notices back to back: 4,996 accounts restricted on October 10 at 11 PM PDT, and another 10,000 on October 12 at 11 PM PDT. In the same notices, NC says a smaller group of accounts wasn’t punished at all, just locked for security. Those are different situations, and they’re fixed differently.
What NC is banning for
- Botting and gold farming: macros, bots or other unauthorized programs, plus organized play patterns that look like gold farming or real-money trading (RMT).
- Economy abuse: abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the in-game economy.
Both notices list the same reasons from the Operation Policy’s sanctions table: Gold Farming / Bot Operations, Use of Unauthorized Programs and RMT. NC says restrictions only come after review and that normal play, including long grinding sessions, isn’t affected.

Security lock: not a penalty
Separately, NC temporarily locked “a small number” of accounts as a precaution. That happens when it detects a login from a device or connection that looks risky, like a possible account compromise. NC is clear that a security lock isn’t a penalty: it protects your account and items until things can be verified.
The notices don’t say whether the in-game message tells the two apart. If you don’t run third-party tools and haven’t bought or sold Kina outside the game, a security lock is the more likely explanation, but only support can confirm it.
How to appeal
- Go to NC’s AION 2 support page and log in with the account you play on.
- Open a ticket and say whether it looks like a restriction or a security lock. Include your server, character name and when access stopped.
- For a security lock, mention if you recently changed PC, network or used a VPN. That helps explain the “risky” login.
- Only talk to support through the ticket. NC won’t ask for your password over Discord or DMs.
NC asks players to file “as soon as possible” and says every request is reviewed individually. The rules themselves are in the AION 2 Operation Policy.
If your account got locked
- Locked and you play clean: file the ticket today, change your NC password and turn on any extra account security you have.
- Using macros or third-party tools: stop. NC names both.
- Bought Kina from a seller: RMT is a listed reason in both waves.
- Not affected yet: two waves in three days suggests more are coming. NC hasn’t posted a schedule.
Official sources: October 11 notice (4,996 accounts), October 13 notice (10,000 accounts).
