RuneScape Reignited’s launch rules are under review after Jagex heard concerns from existing players. The company has shared possible changes, but it says none are guaranteed yet.

The initial RuneFest announcement presented December 2, 2026, as the planned launch date and December 2 to 12 as a free-access window for members’ content. Jagex’s October 6 and October 9 follow-ups revisit that plan, so treat those dates and rules as the original proposal rather than settled terms.

What Jagex is considering

Jagex is exploring a way for an existing character to become a Reignited version within the same membership. The design goal is to let players switch between the Veteran and Reignited versions of that character while carrying their legacy.

The company is also discussing exclusive Veteran rewards, including a cosmetic Max Cape example, and whether Reignited-only worlds should remain in the plan. Jagex says that even if it removes those worlds, Reignited characters would still have separate economies and progression on shared worlds.

Jagex is also looking at changing restrictions on playing with non-Reignited characters after launch. It has described these points as early directions, not confirmed features. Some still need technical feasibility checks.

What players should take from the update

The October 9 post does not confirm a revised launch date or final account rules. It says Jagex wants line-by-line feedback and plans to continue the discussion the following week.

For now, the December 2 launch and December 2 through December 12 access window remain details from the initial announcement. Check the official RuneScape news before making plans around a separate character, membership, or world restrictions.
