ESO in October 2026: Greymoor goes free, Season Two and Witches Festival
A practical ESO October checklist for the High Seas event, free Greymoor and Wolfhunter access, Season Two, and Witches Festival.
Update, Oct 20: on October 19 ESO moved the Greymoor Chapter and the Wolfhunter DLC into the base game, free for all players, according to the official ESO news. Season Two started October 21 at 1 PM ET.
October has three useful checkpoints for ESO players: the High Seas of Tamriel event ended October 14, the Greymoor and Wolfhunter DLCs join the base game on October 19, and Season Two began alongside the Witches Festival on October 21.
Updated: October 12, 2026
ZeniMax hasn’t given start times for the October 19 and October 21 changes.
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Oct 14 (ended) | High Seas of Tamriel event and Golden Pursuits campaign end |
| Oct 19 | Greymoor and Wolfhunter join the base game at no charge |
| Oct 21 – Nov 4 | Witches Festival |
| Oct 21 – Jan 27, 2027 | Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim |
October 14: the High Seas event ended
The High Seas of Tamriel event and its Set Sail on the High Seas Golden Pursuits campaign ran through October 14. To take part, players picked up Raising the Riotous Redress in the in-game Crown Store, then follow the quest to unlock the daily Bounty of the Abecean Sea.
That daily can be completed solo or with up to four players. The first completion on your account each day gives a Legendary Deep Plunder Box and 300 Trade Bars, according to the official event details. The event also offers other activities and possible rewards, so check the in-game event before the deadline.

October 19: Greymoor and Wolfhunter move into the base game
ZeniMax says all ESO players will get access to the Greymoor and Wolfhunter DLC content at no charge starting October 19. That includes Western Skyrim, the Antiquities system, Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices dungeons, and the Kyne’s Aegis trial.
The update is a good reason to revisit older zones and activities. If you already own the DLC, the announcement describes the change as content moving into the base game; it does not list a separate claim step.
October 21: Season Two and the Witches Festival
Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim began October 21 and runs through January 27, 2027. The season takes players to Eastern Skyrim, adds solo versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices, and introduces a new Tamriel Tome.
The Witches Festival also started October 21 and runs through November 4. Our Witches Festival 2026 guide has the start time, the boss-by-boss style pages and what to buy with Trade Bars. ZeniMax lists Trade Bars, Plunder Skulls, and other bonus rewards. The season and the festival overlap, but they are separate activities with separate reward tracks.
