Path of Exile 2 reaches its 1.0 full release on December 11, 2026 (PST). According to Grinding Gear Games, the game becomes fully free-to-play that day.

What comes with 1.0

  • The Duelist: the first sword-wielding class in Path of Exile 2. Grinding Gear describes it as an aggressive, adaptable melee class that fights with a sword and shield.
  • The final two campaign acts: with 1.0, the story is complete.
  • Platforms: PC (Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation and Xbox.

Where the date was announced

The date was announced at gamescom’s Opening Night Live, in Cologne, together with a Duelist trailer. Grinding Gear’s press release on the official forum is dated August 25, 2026.

The latest patch

The most recent patch posted on the early-access forum is 0.5.5e, from October 5, 2026. It is a small update: it adds a Texture Quality setting for computers with low VRAM and fixes a few bugs, such as Ritual encounters that did not start after some bosses, and problems accessing the Tomb of the Fallen Knight.
